Oliver has very sensitive skin and can't use normal bath products because of his eczema but being 4 years old, he obviously really really wants to have bubble baths! What 4 year old doesn't love bubbles ?
So I have tried several different bubble baths apparently suitable for sensitive skin - well obviously not this sensitive skin because he was left with rashes afterwards with all of them so I made it my mission to find a bubble bath suitable for his sensitive skin and I've found one! Thanks to the lovely people at Green People.
This morning the post man brought a lovely delivery from Green People which is a brand we haven't tried until today.
Green People - Established in 1997 it's the leader in certified organic body care products. With natural products including children's items, shampoos, face creams and lots more. It is one of the biggest names in organic beauty in the UK. It was started by a mother who wanted to help her 2 year old suffering from eczema and allergies.
The product he used in a bubble bath was Organic Children Bath & Shower - Lavender Burst. Which can be found here - http://www.greenpeople.co.uk/childrens-bath-shower-gel-lavender-200ml.aspx
It costs £8.50 and if you're looking at it thinking well that's a lot of money for bubble bath - it really isn't because unlike other products I only had to use a tiny amount to create a bath full of bubbles, so I know it's going to last a while. Also for a product that is suitable for the most delicate of skin, it's really worth the money and to see their little face when they are finally allowed bubbles is priceless! and its 200ml.
I was originally worried that 'lavender burst' would smell really strongly and since I've been pregnant certain smells make me feel sick but it doesn't smell too strongly and it's actually really nice.
Oliver saw the bubbles and asked me "is it magic?" I replied telling him
"No, it's a special new bubble bath for you to try from Green People"
I could have probably explained this better because Oliver replied with:
**Green people in Oliver's head are the students at a local secondary school that walk past us on the way home from school each day - they are very loud and I suppose if you're 4, they might be a little bit scary. So obviously he was very confused as to why these green jumper wearers are providing him with bubble bath. I had to explain that Green People I meant now, is a lovely company.**
Not many people are aware of this nasty - Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS) which is often found in products, used as a foaming agent which is known to cause skin irritation. Green People's Organic Babies range use natural corn starch and coconut foaming agents, the softness from Aloe Vera and skin nurturing from Chamomile as an alternative.
We have personally had a bad experience with SLS, as Oliver can't use toothpaste which contains it because he suffers from mouth ulcers and when he uses toothpaste containing SLS it actually makes his ulcers worst! (They were very bad mouth ulcers and touch wood he doesn't suffer again). A family member found this out for us after lots of searching on google and asking friends, that toothpaste can actually cause mouth ulcers because of the SLS in it - after seeing lots of doctors none of them suggested this could be the cause!
After hunting we could only find one toothpaste in local stores without SLS in it, so its fantastic that Green People have sent me one they do for Oliver to try too that doesn't contain any Sodium Lauryl Sulfate. All Green People products are free from Sodium Lauryl Sulfate which is great because it means sensitive skin like Oliver's will be ok using it and also why would you want to put something like Sodium Lauryl Sulfate on your little ones skin when it can cause irritation - it's also found in car soaps, garage floor cleaners and engine de-greasers!
You can find the toothpaste here - http://www.greenpeople.co.uk/childrens-mandarin-toothpaste-50ml.aspx it costs £3.50 and it's 100% safe and natural organic toothpaste.

So there's just one last thing to say...
Bye Bye (but thank you) to Oilatum and Hello Green People 'Organic Children'.
I'm very happy to announce I will be adding to my #BabyShowerBlog with a giveaway from Green People, so keep an eye out for it!
As Oliver's only used both products once - I just couldn't wait to share them with you, I will be updating again in 1 week to tell you how his skin is after a week of using the bath stuff and also what he thinks of the toothpaste...
Happy little one & Happy mum! x
*These items were sent to us for the purpose of this review but all of the opinions are mine and Oliver's. We say what we genuinely think.*
